Entry 2006

The 'Entry 2006' event took place in Essen at the former Zeche Zollverein coal mine. The main focus was on design – a creative driving force and innovative factor.

The 'Return on ideas – Better by design' event was one of the special exhibitions in association with 'Entry 2006'. It was based on the notion that successful products start with bright ideas. Ideas which set products apart from the competition in an economic environment. 'Entry' took place from October 14 to November 12, 2006 on the industrial heritage site in the 'red dot' design museum. Part of the exhibition demonstrated the development of two Miele products.
2008 - Opening of CAVE
Miele Cave "CAVE" stands for "Computer Aided Virtual Environment". At the heart of the CAVE is a highly sophisticated project technology which creates a three-dimensional virtual reality environment and is interactive. This technology enables evaluations and modifications of complex product interiors. For some time now, product development in such a virtual environment has played a significant role in industry. The automotive and aviation industries have been at the forefront of this development. VW, for example, has already been using this technology for approx. 10 years. In the domestic appliance industry, Miele is the first company worldwide to adopt CAVE.
